This weekend I was doing some cleaning in my craft room and I stubbled across a box. The box of all the drawings, letters and gifts from kids that watched me on LEGO Masters. By me inspiring them, they inspired me. I wanted to share some of these wondering creations.
One of the most unexpected and heartwarming experiences I’ve had after appearing on LEGO Masters has been receiving fan mail, letters, drawings, and messages from kids who loved watching me on the show. When I first signed up for this incredible adventure, I imagined the thrill of building massive LEGO creations under intense pressure, the camaraderie with other contestants, and the excitement of showcasing my passion for LEGO on national television. But what I didn’t fully anticipate was how much this experience would resonate with young fans—and how much their enthusiasm would inspire me in return.
It’s hard to describe the feeling of opening a letter from a young fan. Some of these letters are filled with bright colors and illustrations of their own LEGO creations, while others share stories of how they felt inspired by watching me build. I’ve even received drawings of moments from the show, and let me tell you, there’s something surreal about seeing yourself in LEGO form, lovingly sketched by tiny hands.
These kids aren’t just fans; they’re creators in their own right. Many of them tell me about the projects they’re working on, how they’ve built entire worlds out of bricks, and how they’re pushing their own creativity to new heights after watching the show. That’s the most humbling part of this whole experience—knowing that something I was a part of sparked that sense of creativity and wonder in them.
One of the most touching messages I received was from a parent who shared that their child, a huge LEGO fan, hadn’t always felt confident in their abilities. But after watching the show, they started to believe in themselves more, taking on bigger and more complex builds. It’s these moments that remind me of the true power of creativity—not just to entertain, but to inspire and uplift. The thought that I could play even a small role in helping a kid believe in their own potential is beyond rewarding.
There’s a kind of magic in LEGO that appeals to all ages, but there’s something particularly special about the way kids connect with it. They see the possibilities in each brick, the potential in every build, and the fun in each challenge. When they reach out to share their excitement, it’s like they’re handing you a piece of that wonder, letting you see the world through their eyes.
As much as I hope I inspired them, the truth is, they’ve inspired me even more. Their enthusiasm and creativity remind me why I love what I do and why it’s so important to keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. The joy and positivity they bring is a reminder that building isn’t just about the finished product—it’s about the journey, the fun, and the community that grows around it.
So to all the young fans who took the time to write or draw or message, thank you. Your words mean the world to me, and your creativity keeps me motivated to keep building, dreaming, and sharing. You are the future of the LEGO world, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create next.
